In this class you will learn the basics of constructing a ring shank along with how to size your ring to accommodate for shrinkage. You will be texturing and doming a topper piece, then once dry and refined you will be attaching to your shank. In this two-step firing process, you will torch fire during step one and once all assembled it will be put into a kiln to finish the firing for ultimate strength. Don’t be limited by traditional metal clay stone setting, learn how to incorporate pre-made fine silver bezels into your pieces to give them a more sophisticated look. A variety of textures and stones will be available to select from, making your creation truly one-of-a-kind! A demonstration of stone setting will be shown at the end of the class. Price includes use of tools in class. Rings will be fired in kiln off premises, delivered to store when ready.
Fee includes fine silver cup bezel, 1 semi-precious stone, plus use of fine silver syringe and paste. 20g of clay can be purchased on the day of class for $54.00.
